DOT starts issuing climbing permits for autumn season

KATHMANDU, Sep 09:Recently, the Department of Tourism (DoT) has begun distributing climbing licenses for the autumn season. According to DoT officials, the government began granting permits for the autumn season.With the start of climbing permit, 65 climbers have taken permission to climb Manaslu and mount Raksha Urai.

According to Rakesh Gurung, Director of Adventure and Mountaineering Branch of Department of Toursim, 65 climbers have taken permission to climb Mt Manaslu and Mt Raksha Urai for autumn.

He also informed that Imagine Nepal Treks was given the task of 'rope fixing'. The number of people taking climbing permits to climb Mt Manaslu is encouraging. He said that the team has left for Mt Manaslu for 'rope fixing'.

According to the manager of Imagine Nepal Treks, Dawa Phuti Sherpa, Imagine Nepal has received rope fixing work in Manaslu for autumn season. There are 7 Sherpas in the rope fixing team. The team will be led by mountain guide Dawa Gyalje Sherpa. Inform the Sherpas that the team has now reached Manaslu Base Camp. he said that the rope fixing work will be started up to the peak of Manaslu mountain.

There are 57 men and 8 women from 20 countries to climb Manaslu and Raksha Urai mountains for autumn. According to the department, 73 lakh 60 thousand 850 rupees of royalty has been collected from them.
