Evening Heritage walk to be held in Kirtipur

KATHMANDU, Sep 09:On September 27, an evening heritage walk will be held in Kirtipur to commemorate World Tourism Day.

The walk will be a collaborative endeavor of Kirtipur Municipality and Kirtipur Swayamsevak Samaj to encourage tourists to explore the heritage region in the evening using digital maps.

Kirtipur's attractive places, heritage regions, hotels, restaurants, and so on have been published on the digital map as part of the same campaign as of Thursday. Saurav Dhakal, a mapping and digital promotion expert, gave a presentation as well as on-site mapping with Kirtipur local guides, tourism students, and villagers. Participants contributed images and videos and updated information on mapping tools such as Google Maps.

According to Rupendra Maharjan, Program Coordinator of Kirtipur Swayamsevak Samaj, the map would be updated on a regular basis with the assistance of Kirtipur Municipality.
