FNCCI's Tourism and Air Transport Committee expansion concludes

KATHMANDU, August 27: The Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry has formed a Tourism and Air Transport committee under the leadership of Desh Bandu Basnet.

The committee has been given the task of bringing in a large number of foreign tourists to the country by exposing Nepal's tourism sector, which has been weakened after the earthquake and the Corona pandemic.

Nilhari Bastola, president of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), and Achyut Sharma Guragain, immediate-past president of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), are the vice-chairman of that committee. 


Also, Binayak Shah, president of the Hotel Associaton Nepal (HAN), Shiva Adhikari, president of Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA), Kul Prasad Neupane, president of Nepal Tourist Vehicle Association (NTVA), Sachin Dhakal, managing director of West Resort, and Sirjana Nepali of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) have been selected as members of the committee among others. 

The advisors of the said committee are Dhananjaya Regmi, Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, Shashikant Agarwal, President of Marriott Kathmandu, Bikram Pandey, Goodwill Ambassador of Lumbini among others.

Handing over the certificates to the members of the committee, President Chandra Dhakal of FNCCI expressed his belief that the committee will play a role in improving the tourism sector as well as raising the reputation of the federation.

Chairman of the committee, Basnet, said that the committee will conduct publicity and promotional programs in the country and abroad for the tourism sector, which plays an important role in bringing in foreign currency to the country.
