NAC’s A320 aircraft remains grounded for 64 days

KATHMANDU, August 25: As a result of technical issues, the Lumbini narrow-body aircraft of the state-owned Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has remained grounded for over 64 days.

The Airbus A320 aircraft with a call sign N9-AKX was grounded on June 20.

The NAC had issued different notices on July 18 and 19 for repairs and lease of the aircraft. After no company showed interest, the tender was again called for engine repair and lease.

According to Spokesperson Ramesh Paudel of the NAC, preparations are being made to send the engine to Delhi within a week for repairs.
