Nepali journalist Phurpa Sherpa scale Mt Elbrus

KATHMANDU, August 20:Phurpa Sherpa, a Nepali journalist, has successfully scaled Mount Elbrus (5,642 meters), Europe's highest mountain, which is located in Russia.

Sherpa reached the summit of Mt Elbrus around 6:15 a.m. local time, according to expedition organizers.

She has now arrived at the base camp and expressed her joy at having climbed Elbrus with the assistance of Nepali mountain guide and record holder Chatur Tamang.
