Minister Kirati seeks clarification from PADT

KATHMANDU, August 19:Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirat has sought clarification over the agreements made by the Pashupati Area Development Trust with the stores, buildings, parks, and for the operation of Dharamsala from member-secretary of PADT Milan Kumar Thapa. A ministerial-level meeting held on Friday has submitted an eight-point memo, requesting answers to the asked questions within a week. 

The ministry has requested to submit the PADT to submit the total amount to be collected by the fund from the stores as per the agreement reached, the amount collected and yet to be recovered. The ministry has also requested the trust to submit details of the remaining arrears to be collected. 

Minister Kirati has also demanded information on keeping a single account of the amount to be collected by the Pashupati Area Development Fund as per the agreement and take action accordingly. The minister has sought information on the agreement made by the PADT with Tilganga, Bhandarkhal, Umakunda, and Bankali parking and requested to submit the details of the amount collected under such an agreement. 

The ministry has also requested the details of the land acquired by the PADT under the 2066 B.S. masterplan to acquire land of wards 7 and 8 around the Pashupatinath area. It has also requested to provide the details on the amount of land acquired y the PADT so far alongside the dates they were acquired and the compensation provided so far.
