Around 700 Bangladeshi enter Nepal for tourist purpose

KATHMANDU, August 18: As many as 700 employees of Akij Group's Plastic Division of Bangladesh have entered Nepal for tourist purposes under the name 'Dealers and Sales Conference.' The company has a total of 200,000 employees working unders its umbrella departments. 

On Friday, the first team of 175 people was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport by the Nepal Tourism Board and Nepalese tourism professionals. They were welcomed with cheers and cultural instruments.

The rest of the team will arrive in Nepal today evening and Saturday, according to the Nepal Tourism Board. According to TP Bhusal, the communication coordinator of the board, said that this visit will play a big role in conveying the message that Nepal is an attractive destination for assembly meetings. According to him, this team will visit the tourist areas around Kathmandu.

While staying in Nepal for four days, the Bangladeshi team will also organize a conference in Nepal according to the predetermined schedule of their company. "This is the first time that a company has sent such a large group to Nepal for the purpose of travel," Bhusal said.

This team will be taken around Kathmandu by Nepalese guides. They will visit Swayambhu, Patan Darbar, Chandragiri, Dhulikhel and Bhaktapur.

Recently, the arrival of Bangladeshi tourists in Nepal is continuously increasing. In July 2023, 2,696 tourists came to Nepal. In June, this number was 2,402. 2164 Bangladeshi tourists visited Nepal in May, 2217 in April, 2466 in March, 1907 in February and 2468 in January.
