Team of doctors ready to assist tourist visiting Gosaikunda

KATHMANDU, August 17: A team of doctors has been formed to assist religious tourists visiting Gosaikunda of Rasuwa in the coming days. Taking into account the situation where the devotees who reach Niladri mountain may suffer from hypoxia (lack of oxygen), the Himalayan Rescue Association has prepared a medical team with medicines. The Gosainkunda fair will be held from 7th to 14th of Bhadra. Gosaikund is at an altitude of 14,100 feet. Govind Batsyal, executive director of the Himalayan Rescue Association, said that six doctors have been kept ready with oxygen to provide treatment services to the devotees.

Treatment services will be provided under the leadership and direct supervision of health assistant Prakash Khatri of the organization. The team consists of Dr. Nisant Joshi, Dr. Pashupati Pokharel, Dr. Sriyasi Karki, Dr. Ayuska Pant, Dr. Krishna Kandel, and Health Technician Sachet Subedi. The association has been providing various services in Gosainkunda in cooperation with Gosainkunda Area Development Committee, District Administration Office, District Health Office, and District Hospital Rasuwa in the Kunda region for two decades.

Various sub-committees have also been formed to arrange the necessary arrangements for the Gosaikund Mela. The organization is working on the necessary service facilities for passengers with the aim of providing services to more than 15,000 devotees in Gosainkunda.
