Minister Kirati commits to resolve issues of rural areas in three days

KATHMANDU, August 16: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has expressed his commitment to resolve the problems faced by remote areas including Karnali within three days.

Minister Kirati expressed this commitment in a delegation with representatives of Karnali province.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal banned regular passenger and charter flights and cargo flights after 12:30 PM from all airports of the country during the monsoon which has obstructed flights to Karnali region for a week.

As many as four children have died in Humla due to a lack of air flights in the region following the authority's decision after the children were referred to another hospital in the city.

Karnali parliamentarians, leaders of political parties, civil society representatives, and tourism businessmen met Minister Kirati at the latter’s office on Wednesday and apprised them of the problem.

The authority has also made a mandatory arrangement that helicopters flying to remote places have to be parked at a nearby airport under the surveillance of security personnel.

As a result, locals and service seekers are under more financial burden.
