Experts suggest establishing direct flights between Vietnam-Nepal

KATHMANDU, August 16: In order to further expand Nepal-Vietnam relations and promote tourism, experts in this field suggest operating direct flights between the two countries. 

In a program organized here today by the Nepal-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce to welcome Nguyen Thanh Hai, who is also the ambassador to Nepal and opined that if a direct Lumbini-Vietnam flight can be established, it will help to expand the Buddhist circuit.

At the event, Ambassador Nguyen mentioned that Vietnamese people are willing to come to Lumbini and emphasized that the two countries should expand the communication network for tourism promotion. He stated that after the establishment of Nepal-Vietnam diplomatic relations, bilateral visits are being exchanged and mentioned that for economic prosperity, it is necessary to expand the contact network in areas of potential, including bilateral trade and tourism.

Businessman Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, who is also the honorary consul for Vietnam, requested to take the initiative for Lumbini-Vietnam direct flight to promote Nepal's tourism.

In addition, he requested for exchange of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, cultural relations, etc.

In the event, Nepal-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce President Deepak Malhotra and Vice President Sureshman Shrestha expressed their view that the expansion of relations between bilateral trade, tourism, agriculture, religious tourism, etc. will also expand people-to-people relations.

In addition, they said that Nepal can benefit by joining hands with Vietnam in the agricultural sector and by bringing Buddhists into the birthplace of Buddha.
