Religious tourism, a base for Bhaktapur’s development: Oli

KATHMANDU, August 15: Chairman of CPN (UML) and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stressed the participation of youths to protect the religious culture, tradition, and identity of Nepal.

Chairman Oli, who came to visit the famous Doleshwar Mahadev Temple located in Suryabinayak Municipality-8 with his wife Radhika Shakya, observed, worshiped, and performed aarti, mentioned that the religious tourist destination is the basis for the development of Bhaktapur.

"People from all over the world visit Nepal to witness our proud religion, culture, and tradition. We also indulge in our traditional, cultural, and ritual activities. Our religions and festivals show the glory of our country in the world. Many developed countries do not have such cultural and traditional values,” he said.

Mentioning that the significant presence of pilgrims from home and abroad is increasing the religious importance of the fair here, which started on July 17, he said hat he has also been supporting the reconstruction of the temples.

On that occasion, UML Politburo Member Mahesh Basnet, Central Member Padma Aryal, singer and former MP Komal Wali, Bagmati Provincial Assembly Member Kiran Thapa, UML District President Vachan Deuja, Mayor of Suryavinayak Municipality Vasudev Thapa, Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur Khagendra Prasad Rizal, Deputy Mayor Sarita Timsina Bhattarai. , Ward President Pushparaj Basnet of Ward No. 8, Chairman of Doleswar Mahadev Temple Development Committee Dharmaraj Basnet and others had welcomed Oli at the temple.
