Rain disrupts domestic and international flights at TIA

KATHMANDU, August, 13:Since Saturday night, continuous rain has disrupted domestic and international flights at Tribhuvan International Airport. Some aircraft have been rerouted and others have been canceled due to low visibility, according to TIA General Manager Pratap Babu Tiwari.

Air India flights from New Delhi, India, have been redirected to Varanasi, as have Air China and Sichuan Airlines flights from Tianfu, China, to Tianfu. Flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Surkhet have also been halted.


Buddha Air has canceled three Kathmandu-Pokhara flights and one Kathmandu-Tumlingtar flight. Rainfall is expected to persist until Tuesday, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
