Commercial paragliding starts in Sindhuli

KATHMANDU, August 11: Following a successful test flight on April 25, commercial paragliding has been brought into operation from August 7 onwards at Sindhuli.
According to Netrajung Thapa, owner of the company, Prayas Hotel Pvt Ltd, which is located near Kamalamai Municipality-6 Laxman Chowk has brought commercial paragliding in operation with an investment of Rs 20 million.  
The company has obtained a license from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to carry out up to five paragliding at the same time through appointed pilots; Dilkumar Sunuwar, Vikram Sunuwar, and Shankar Thapa Magar. A fee of Rs 6,500 per person has been fixed for paragliding while local residents of the district have been given a discount of rs 1,000 per person for one month.
According to Thapa, transportation to the flight point and back to the hotel from the landing points as well as video and photo facilities is also included in this fee. Jarsedamar, Ratmata, and Khulamanch have been designated as landing spots. The take-off site for paragliding is 970 meters above sea level. The flight will take adrenaline seekers up to about 1,000 meters above the take-off site.
Tourists can see the natural beauty of the district, the picturesque environment, and the surrounding peaks, and enjoy the enticing view while soaring high above. It is also believed that it will help in promoting Sindhuli and making it a prosperous district.
