British PM Sunak requested to visit Nepal during his vacation

KATHMANDU, August 10: Dipendra Gurung, a British businessman of Nepali origin, has invited British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to visit the country on his vacation. At an event held in London, Gurung requested the British Prime Minister to celebrate a holiday in Nepal.


In the conversation, British Prime Minister Sunak inquired about the progress being made regarding the flight preparation of Himalaya Jet, an international airline company of Gurung. 


According to the secretariat of Himalaya Jet, Prime Minister Sunak was informed by businessman Gurung that Himalaya Jet would start operations within 2023 with direct chartered flights to Nepal followed by flights to Monte Carlo, Macao, and Las Vegas from 2025.


On the occasion, Gurung invited Prime Minister Sunak to visit Nepal to celebrate his vacation with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple and the country’s scenic mountains following the start of the Himalaya Jet’s direct flights from Britain to Nepal.


Responding to Gurung's proposal, Prime Minister Sunak shared that he will be visiting India in September and will accept his invitation to visit Nepal if he has the time.
