Thaha Municipality calls on bids for management of Daman resort for 20 years

KATHMANDU: Daman Resort, which is being operated by the local government of Thaha Municipality of Makwanpur, will be handed over to the private sector. The municipality has called for tenders to entrust the operation of the resort to the private sector for 20 years.
The resort located in Daman was built in 2021. The resort, which was operated by the central government for a long time, came under the responsibility of the municipality through the District Development Committee.
Earlier, the management of the resort was handed over to Prakash Hotel International for five years however the contract was terminated before the said time and has remained shut for a few years now.  
The municipality has called on tenders yet again for interested establishments to take over the resort’s management for the next 20 years. 
Issuing a 30-day notice, the municipality said that those who are interested can apply for the call for bids. According to the municipality, the minimum figure for the contract period is Rs 10 million. After the contract is signed, 25 percent of the installment will have to be paid beforehand to the municipality.
Similarly, out of the remaining installments, the first installment of 30% will have to be paid within five years, the second installment of 30% within 12 years of the contract period, and the remaining amount within 19 years of the contract period and 15% of the amount will have to be paid.
