Analysis of Yeti Airline crash report handed over to Nepali authorities

KATHMANDU, August 7: The black box report of the Yeti Airlines ATR-72 plane that crashed in Pokhara on January 15 has been handed over to Nepali authorities. According to a source, the investigation commission formed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation is conducting a studying and analyzing the report received.

“Analysis and compilation are now being done. We will prepare the final report within this month and submit it to the ministry. It will take another two months to take opinions from various sectors including the airline manufacturing company until the report is released to the public," he said.

Annex 13 of the Chicago Convention states that an additional 60 days are to be set aside to receive feedback on the final report. The commission sent about a dozen pieces of equipment from the crashed plane to France's Bureau of Inquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety.

Yeti Airlines flight NYT691 with call sign 9N-ANC carrying 72 souls on board, including four crew members, had crashed into a gorge in Pokhara after taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 10:32 am on January 15.
