CAAN to not allow flights outside of operation hours

KATHMANDU, July 1: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has decided not to allow flights to be operated outside of the 'operation hours' determined at various airports citing flight safety reasons.

On Tuesday, the Authority's Aviation Services Directorate decided on various issues including the adoption of air flight safety precautions during monsoon.

The regulator has decided to send letters to the various airlines operating to strictly implement the provisions of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2058.

The Air Transport Division has decided to approve the flight schedule of the relevant airline within the 'operation hours' of the airport where the flight will take place while approving the flight schedule.

Similarly, it has been decided not to allow extra time for flight operations after the 'operation hours' determined in various airports in the Domestic Airport and Management Guideline 2079, especially in the months of July, August, and September.

The domestic airport will monitor whether the work related to the operation is carried out in a timely manner within the 'operation hours' of the domestic airport.
