Bhutan seeks permission to conduct operations to PRIA and GBIA

KATHMANDU, Aug 01: Bhutan has requested the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to operate scheduled flights to Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) and Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA).

Through the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of Bhutan, the Bhutan Civil Aviation Authority has requested permission for scheduled flights through two aircraft to PRIA and GBIA. Bhutan Air has already been conducting flights to and from the Tribhuvan International Airport as well.

Earlier, Sichuan Air operated a charter flight to the newly-built airport in Pokhara recording the first international flight to the airport.

There are currently no flights to Pokhara through other international airlines. If all goes well, Bhutan Air is likely to be the first airline to fly regularly.
