Sichuan Airlines to conduct seven flights per week to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, July 31: Chinese airline company Sichuan Airlines is going to increase the number of regular flights to Nepal. The airline company has announced to operate seven flights a week from the last week of August. Sichuan Airlines resumed regular flights to Nepal from March and is currently conducting four flights a week to the Kathmandu-Chengdu route.

According to the official General Sales Agent (GSA) Society International, the company is preparing to make seven flights a week considering the increasing demand of passengers. "Since the number of Chinese tourists will increase from September, the company is going to increase the number of flights," said an employee, "The airline is also excited because the number of Nepalese businessmen commuting between Nepal and China has also increased."

Prior to COVID-19, Sichuan Airlines conducted four flights a week to Kathmandu. Preparations are also underway to start regular flights from Pokhara Regional International Airport.

Ater China opened its borders, Himalaya Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Sichuan Airlines , Air China, Tibet Air. have started conducting regular flights to Kathmandu.
