Jazeera Air flights to GBIA postponed after not getting a night slot

Jazeera Air flights to GBIA postponed after not getting a night slot

KATHMANDU, July 30: Kuwait's Jazeera Airways, which started regular flights with Gautam International Airport, has suspended its flights after a year.
Gautam Buddha International Airport Chief Hansraj Pandey said that although the infrastructure has been expanded, flights have been suspended citing business reasons.
"We are ready to serve 24 hours a day, but as the market, trade, and business here are not functioning enough, there has been information that international flights have been suspended," he said. "The company has not stopped flights to GBIA but has postponed it. There is a possibility that the airline will start operation again from Dashain," he said.
According to a source, the company has suspended the flight for an indefinite period as the airline did not get the flight slot.
Earlier, the airlines had been conducting operations during the night time. Since a while ago, the company's flight schedules have been kept in the morning hours. The flights were postponed citing business reasons.
He said that the transit time for passengers going to Saudi, Qatar, and other destinations will take 3 hours when flying at night and 13 hours when flying in the morning. The flight distance from Bhairahawa to Kuwait is about five hours.
