Baundeshwor temple witnesses increasing flow of tourists

KATHMANDU, July 30: A fair was held in the Baundeshwor temple complex of Tokha on Saturday, which holds religious, historical, and archaeological importance.

A fair was held on Saturday at Baundeshwor temple in Tokha municipality-1. According to Ramesh Lamichhane, chairman of ward 1, thousands of devotees watched the Baundeshwor Mela which started on Saturday morning. Lately, Baundeshwor temple and the nearby waterfall area of Tokha Municipality-1 has been developing as a destination for domestic tourists 

The municipality is working under a master plan to develop the Baudeshwor temple area. The Baudeshwar Conservation Committee is currently working on the construction of stairs leading to the temple to bring in internal and external tourists to the Baudeshwor temple and waterfall, and to create an environment for the devotees to have a comfortable visit.


In Tokha, there are temples of important religious and historical importance such as Sapantirtha, Chandeshwari, along with Vaudeshwar, while the Newar community has been celebrating various festivals in Tokha Bazar.


Prakash Adhikari, the head of Tokha Municipality, informed that the budget is being allocated every financial year for the cultural preservation of Tokha.
