Efforts underway to announce ‘Bharatpur Visit Year 2024’

KATHMANDU, July 27: Bharatpur Metropolitan City has initiated a promotion campaign for 'Bharatpur Visit Year, 2024'. According to Mayor Renu Dahal, the provincial, and federal governments and Nepal the Tourism Board has been informed about the promotional program of Bharatpur Visit Year adding that discussions are also underway with the private sector regarding the visit year.

The metropolis is set to celebrate the year of tourism with the aim of attracting 200,000 foreign and 700,000 domestic tourists in 2024. According to the data maintained by the metropolis, an average of 30,000 foreigners and 400,000 domestic tourists visit the Bharatpur metropolis annually. 

According to Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari, a five-member steering committee and a 501-member core committee have been formed under the coordination of Mayor Dahal to make the visit year 2024 a success. The program is said to be finalised after the committees prepare and submits the action plan within 15 days.

A mobile app has also been prepared for the purpose of providing information on 33 tourist destinations located within the metropolis in preparation for the tourism year. According to Vishwa Subedi, a tourism expert of the metropolis, pictures alongside information related to the  33 destinations including seven main tourist destinations are included in the app. Along with this, the work of preparing short videos, documentaries and putting them on the app is also underway.

The app includes information about the important tourist destinations of Meghauli, Patihani, Bisahajari Lake, Devghatdham, Narayani Sea Beach, Gyaneshwar Block, and Chowkidanda. Promotion of the ‘Visit Year 2024’ will also be carried out in cities of India and China as well.
