Lawmaker Khadka to bring two five-star hotels in operation
KATHMANDU, July 28: Member of Parliament from Nepali Congress Deepak Khadka is set to launch a five-star hotel in Jhapa and Kathmandu respectively with an investment of almost Rs 5 billion. Khadka, an MP elected from Sankhuwasabha, has also made investments in the hydropower sector.
Khadka, who is also the chairman of Menchhiyam Hydropower, is set to bring two five-star hotels at Bulanilkanth in Kathmandu and Dhulawari in Jhapa into operation at an investment of Rs 4.98 billion.
The lawmaker and entrepreneur is set to invest Rs 2.97 billion in Hotel Forest Inn through loans and partnerships, to be established at Budanilkantha. The company is going to operate a hotel with a capacity of 102 rooms at that location and will stretch over an area of 142,783 square feet. The hotel will provide its guests with various facilities including a swimming pool, conference hall and banquet, spa, and other facilities. An agreement was also reached with the Intercontinental Hotel Group. The hotel is scheduled to be put into operation in October 2023.
Similarly, Rs 2.1 billion at Hotel Eastern Nepal, is to be established at Dhulawari. The hotel is being built on an area of 110,444 square feet. A casino and a banquet hall will be built at that location. So far, 35 percent of the construction of the hotel comprising 98 rooms has been completed. The hotel will also facilitate a food and beverage facility, a swimming pool, a conference hall and banquet, spa, among others.
The hotel is scheduled to start operation from October 2025.
