Nearly three lakh tourists visited CNP in last FY

KATHMANDU, July 24:In the last fiscal year 2022/23, 299,412 tourists visited Chitwan National Park. This is the highest number ever.

According to Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the park's information officer, there are 2,05,605 Nepalese, 55,872 foreigners, and 37,935 tourists from SAARC nations among those who have visited the park.

Tourism generated 229.3 million in revenue in the previous fiscal year. In the fiscal year 2021/22, 1,90,458 visitors visited the park. This year, 114.9 million in revenue were received.

Similarly, when 98,928 tourists arrived in 2020/21, 35 million were revenue collected. In the fiscal year 2019/20, 1,82,435 visitors visited the park. In that year, 199.2 million in revenue were collected.

Nepalis pay Rs 150 to enter the park, while visitors from SAARC nations pay Rs 1,000 and those from other countries pay Rs 2,000.
