Construction of aviation fuel depot begins at Pokhara International Airport

POKHARA, July 19:The premises of the  Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) in Kaski has begun construction of an aviation fuel depot. Ramesh Rijal, Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, lay the foundation stone for the Rs 770 million project on Monday during a ceremony. 


With the inauguration of the international airport in Pokhara, there will be a greater need for aviation fuel, hence a new fuel depot will be constructed. Three depots with a capacity of 1.2 million liters will be established here, according to Dhiraj Bikram Khadka, head of Aviation Fuel Depot Pokhara.

The depot will cost Rs 770 million rupees, according to Nagendra Sah, Deputy Executive Director of Nepal Oil Corporation. The project has been awarded to the Samanantar-Religare-Bharat Tanks JV.

"Two tanks with a capacity of 1,200 kiloliters and one tank with a capacity of 1,500 kiloliters will be constructed," he stated.
