purchasing planes is a national necessity : Tourism Minister Kirati

KATHMANDU, July 14:Sudan Kirati, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has stated that purchasing planes is a national imperative.

Minister Kirati stated during a National Assembly hearing on Thursday that purchasing the plane was not in his personal interest. He stated that purchasing planes is a national requirement. "The purchase of the plane is not in my personal interest," he explained. It is a national requirement.

He stated that, despite the fact that airports have been established in remote places, they cannot fly regularly due to a lack of planes flying in that area, and the airport's justification has been raised.

Many airports have been constructed in outlying places. However, due to the lack of flights in that area, it is logical to question the airport's justification when it cannot fly regularly,'' he said.

According to him, the private sector is not interested in operating flights to rural places because there is no profit in doing so. He also stated that the Nepal Air Service Corporation has moved on with the purchase of three light planes. He stated, 'Considering this fact, Nepal Airlines Corporation has expedited the process of purchasing three small planes.'

He stated that it is up to specialists and corporation officials to define the process by which the purchase will be completed, and he stated that he has directed to proceed with the plane purchase in a transparent manner in accordance with Nepalese regulations.

'It is up to the corporation's specialists and authorities to decide which procedure to purchase,' he said. If necessary, the government will only assist, and I have already authorized you to proceed with the plane purchase procedure in a transparent manner in accordance with Nepali laws.

He stated that there is a demand for airport building in many sections of the country, but that rather than increasing the number of airports, emphasis should be made on improving service and quality.
