Druk Air and SriLankan Airlines to fly to Gautam Buddha International Airport

KATHMANDU, July 11:Bhutan's Druk Air and Sri Lanka Airlines will fly to Gautam Buddha International Airport. During a conversation with Tourism Secretary Suresh Adhikari and a representative of SriLankan Airlines at a travel mart hosted in Sri Lanka by the Siddhartha Hotel Association in Bhairahawa, he stated that he is willing to fly to Gautam Buddha International Airport.

At Travelmart, tourism specialists from both countries had a debate. ''We discussed the topic of Nepal Airlines Corporation flying from here and Sri Lankan Airlines flying from there with the representative of Sri Lankan Airlines,'' said the secretary officer.

According to him, a response from Sri Lanka to Nepal Airlines Corporation's flight proposal is still pending. He stated that the Ministry has requested that Sri Lankan Airlines commence one flight each week to Bhairahawa.

Bhutan's Druk Air has also made progress toward flying to Bhairahawa. According to the official GSA Danfe Travel for Nepal, Druk Air has begun a feasibility assessment for a three-city flight from Paro to Gaya to Bhairahawa.

Druk Air has already begun the research. "The company has planned flights from Paro to Gaya and Bhairahawa," said Danfe director Pavitra Karki. "All three destinations are special for Buddhists."
