Dawa yangzum sherpa scales Nanga Parbat

KATHMANDU, July 07:Dawa yangzum sherpa successfully scaled the world's ninth highest peak, Mount Nanga Parbat (8,126m) on July 2.

Mingma David Sherpa, Mountain guide and co-founder of Elite Exped informed Dawa yangzum sherpa has climbed Nanga parbat on july 2, morning. She scaled this mountain with Elite exped company.

A 32-year-old sherpa completes her tenth 8000er out of 14 peaks.Sherpa from Rowaling Valley in Dolakh district is on a goal to summit all 14 peaks. 

She is the first Asian women IFMGA/UIAGM mountain guide, also a brand ambassador of world-famous companies such as Rolex, The North Face, Lekki, Oakley, Sunglasses. Dawa is the first nepali and youngest brand ambassador for Rolex company. 

Dawa is the youngest K2 summitter and also the first nepali women to climbed Annapurna-I without O2. Also the first nepali female climber to scale the 12th highest peak (Broad peak).

Sherpa also led the National Geographic scientific research team to Mt.Everest 2019, 2022 and 2023. She is the first women to summit the real (true)summit of manaslu. Dawa is also a Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) vice president. She started to climb mountain from 2009. 

Dawa yangzum has climbed Everest, Kanchenjunga, K2, Annapurna-I, Lhotse, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, Manaslu, Broad Peak, and Nanga Parbat thus far. She plans to climb the four remaining summits, Gasherbrum-I, Gasherbrum-II, Cho Oyu, and Shishapangma, in order to complete all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters.
