Bhuban Bahadur Pandey is new SOTTO Nepal president

KATHMANDU, July 02:Bhuban Bahadur Pandey has been unanimously elected the president of the Society of Travel and Tour Operators Nepal (SOTTO Nepal). 

The 15th annual general meeting of the SOTTO Nepal elected a new working committee under Pandey's leadership.  He was SOTTO Nepal's General Secretary. 

 

Similarly, Man Bahadur Shahi,  Devraj Khanal and Dinesh Basnet have been elected first vice president, second vice president and general-secretary of the SOTTO Nepal respectively. 

Kumar Parajuli, Kamal Bahadur Magar and Kamal GC are secretary, treasurer and joint-treasurer of the new executive committee of SOTTO Nepal respectively. 

Likewise, Anand Kumar Chhetri, Ganga prasad Giri (Sagar), Dasuram Gautam, Omprakash Joshi, Rajendra Prasad Tripathi, Madhusudhan Nepal, and Anisha Gyawali have been elected members of the new executive committee.

According to newly elected President Pandey, if VAT is put on flight tickets, individuals will buy them from overseas to avoid paying VAT, which will affect Nepali travel enterprises. He called the government's attention to the issue, claiming that tourist arrivals would fall and that the government's target of bringing in 1 million tourists would not be met.
