Pokhara's paragliding fee increased

POKHARA, July 01:The fee for paragliding flights has been increased in Pokhara, Kaski. Nepal Air Sports Association vhas increased the rate of paragliding flights.

Until now, they have been paying Rs 8,500 per flight, but now they have to pay Rs 12,000. Sunil Bhattarai, president of Nepal Air Sports Association, said that the fee includes insurance and pilot expenses.

He says that after the operation of the international airport in Pokhara, their expenses have increased and they have increased the amount according to time. Paragliding, which used to be done from Toripani and Sarangkot, has now shifted to Mandre Dhunga. Bhattarai said that this is the reason why the expenses have increased.

From the increased amount now, paragliding pilots will receive around 6 thousand rupees per flight, said Sovit Baniyan, former vice president of Nepal Airsports Association. He said, "First, I used to get 3,900."

60 paragliding companies are affiliated to Nepal Air Sports Association. Chairman Bhattarai informed that 52 of them are in operation. There are 375 licensed paragliding pilots in all companies. He said that currently 250 pilots are in service.
