Tourism Minister Kirati says bill to break up CAAN has reached Council of Ministers

KATHMANDU, June 28:Sudan Kirati, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, informed Parliament that the bill to break up the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) had reached the Council of Ministers.

Minister Kirati stated during a House of Representatives meeting on Monday that future decisions will be made after discussions in the Council of Ministers.

He stated that two proposal have been sent to Parliament to establish CAAN as a regulatory agency and Air Service Authority as a service provider.

When MPs asked where the process has lately progressed, considering that the CAAN should be split into two, Tourism Minister Kiranti delivered such a response.
