Siddharthanagar Hotel Association delegation departs for Sri Lanka to promote Lumbini

KATHMANDU, June 27:A hotelier delegation has left for Sri Lanka to promote tourism in Nepal.

Following the covid-19 pandemic, religious visitors from Sri Lanka are eager to visit Lumbini, and interest in visiting Nepal is growing.

The crew will take the initiative to fly directly from Sri Lanka to Bhairahawa, according to the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN).

An 18-member hotelier delegation led by Siddharth Nagar Hotel Association president Chandraprakash Shrestha traveled to Sri Lanka with a package on Tuesday.

Suresh Adhikari, Secretary of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, is also taking part in the program.

The Lumbini Festival program and B2B program will be held in the presence of distinguished tourism professionals from various cities, more than one hundred tour operators and Sri Lankan government officials, Nepalese ambassador to Sri Lanka, and journalists from June 27 to July 2 in Colombo and Kandy in Sri Lanka.

According to HAN, on this occasion, a new project would be launched with Sri Lankan government agencies to boost air connectivity at Gautam Buddha International Airport.

The Hotel Association Nepal and the Siddharthnagar Hotel Association believe that this will allow the Lumbini Festival program to be organized in 2023 and that the government's Tourism Decade 2023 aim of 10 million tourists will be met.

With the government's designation of 2025 as the Year of Tourism, the Hotel Association Nepal Central and Regional Association has already begun planning to make it a success.
