Nepal-China relations higher than Mt Everest: Tourism Minister Kirati

KATHMANDU, June 22:Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Sudan Kiranti, said the bond between Nepal and China is stronger than Mount Everest. He made this statement during a gathering held on Wednesday upon the arrival of the first international chartered flight at Pokhara International Airport.

He added that Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, also serves as its highest border. Despite the fact that beginning international flights and landings at Pokhara International Airport is the first step, he said that it is still required to proceed.

"This is a  very big thing to start. Continuous operation is even more crucial. We have the impression of having taken the first step in a long journey, he remarked. "Mt. Everest is not only the highest peak in the world; it also has the highest border. No border in the world is higher than this one. The odd thing is that our two nations' (Nepal and China) friendship is higher than this natural boundary, despite how high it is. Our languages and cultures are very intertwined.

According to Minister Kiranti, Chinese nationals who visit Nepal have the impression that their cousins have also arrived. He underlined the need to further develop and solidify this relationship.
