TIA received more than 1.8 million international passengers in five months

KATHMANDU, June 17:Tribhuvan International Airport received 18 lakhs 43 thousand 490 international passengers in the first five months of 2023.

According to airport office figures, more than 1.8 million persons went on a total of 12,766 flights from January to May. Meanwhile, the number of travellers departing Nepal exceeds the number of people entering Nepal.

According to the airport office , the number of people departing Nepal in five months is 151,76 higher than those entering Nepal. Over the course of five months, 997,283 people left and 846,277 people arrived.

In the last five months, the number of outbound passengers has consistently increased. According to airport office figures, 183 thousand 116 people left in January. In February, 173 thousand 762 individuals left.

In March, the number was 2 lakh 12 thousand 856; in April, there were 2 lakh 10 thousand 3 hundred 4; and in May, there were 2 lakh 17 thousand 349. 162,655 people entered in January. In February, 159 thousand 863 people entered. In March, 185,285, in April, 179,15, and in May, 159,349 people entered.
