NAC to starts international flights between Malaysia and Bhairahawa from Tuesday

KATHMANDU, June 12:Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will begin regular flights on Tuesday, one year after Gautam Buddha International Airport opened.

According to Hansraj Pandey, chief of Gautam Buddha International Airport, the NAC will fly one day each week on the Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu route.

The NAC's narrowbody plane will arrive at the airport at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday). "We have already made preparations to welcome this flight, which is about to land for the first time," said Chief Pandey. "Tomorrow, this plane will land here and return to Kathmandu."

He stated that the NAC, which initially scheduled flights on one day of the week, intends to increase the number of flights based on passenger demand.

The NAC now operates four planes, two narrow body and two wide body, that fly to numerous overseas destinations such as Delhi, Doha, Bangalore, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Mumbai, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and others.

After Jazeera Airways, with the commercial flights of the NAC, the number of airlines operating international flights at Bhairahawa will reach two.

Cambodia and Myanmar, according to Airport Chief Pandey, have also begun market research for regular flights at this airport. He informed me that both Buddhist countries have begun planning commercial flights to Lumbini.
