Everest Museum opened in Khumbu
SOLUKHUMBU, May 28: The Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality's Everest Museum has been inaugurated. Sonam Galzen Sherpa, a member of the National Assembly, inaugurated the museum on Wednesday.
The costume reflecting the traditional culture of the Sherpa caste was built by Lhakpa Sona Sherpa, a local of Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality Ward No. 5, with the purpose of collecting and preserving the materials that are used daily in human life.
Mountain climbing tools, photographs of people who climbed the mountain after 1953, and photographs of key settlements such as Khumjung, Namche, and Lukla from various historical periods have been collected in the museum.
