Yeti group chair Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa was greeted warmly in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, May 21:Lakpa Sonam Sherpa, Executive Chairman of Yeti Group, was greeted enthusiastically at Tribhuvan Airport on Saturday after returning to Kathmandu from climbing Everest.

On Wednesday, May 17, he successfully summited Mount Everest at 7:34 a.m.

According to Thamserku Trekking Company, Sherpa also climbed Everest, becoming the first Nepali to reach the main peak (real summit) of the world's seven tallest peaks.

Sherpa previously ascended Mt Aconcagua (6,962 m) in Argentina, Mt Denali (6,190 m) in North America, Mt Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) in Africa, Mt Elbrus (5,642 m) in Europe, Puncak Jaya/Mt Carstensz (4,884 m) in Oceania, and Mt Vinson (4,892 m) in Antarctica.

Sherpa, a senior tourism entrepreneur who is also the executive chairman of Yeti Group (Yeti Airlines and Tara Air), has a investment in the tourism and hydropower sectors.
