Charter flights from Pokhara to Chinese cities soon
KATHMANDU, May 18:Charter flights will operate from Pokhara International Airport to locations around China. Sudan Kirati, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, announced that chartered flights will begin in various Chinese cities in the third week of June.
This information was provided by Tourism Minister Kirati at the 24th National Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA). "We have been flying chartered flights from Pokhara to various cities in China since June 23." "Our last conversation was only yesterday," he said.
For the first five months of its existence, Nepal's third international airport, which has been in commercial operation since January 1, 2023, has been unable to handle international flights. There are currently no international flights through this airport, despite the fact that there are domestic flights. According to the airport office, Himalaya Airlines, which operates an international flight from Nepal, did a test flight on the day of the airport's opening, but no international flight has yet taken place.
Tourism Minister Kirati stated that chartered flights will be available from Pokhara to numerous locations in China, although he did not specify which airlines will fly.
