Buddha Air's 72 ATR starts Tumlingtar flights

KATHMANDU, May 16:Buddha Air, a leading domestic airline in the private sector, has started regular flights between Kathmandu and Tumlingtar with a 72-seater aircraft for the first time.

Buddha Air started regular flights on Tuesday with a 72-seat 'ATR 72-500' aircraft. Previously, the 'ATR 42-314' had a seating capacity of 47.

Every day at 8 a.m., the 72-seater aircraft will travel from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar. The introductory rate is Rs 6,300 per passenger, with the 'regular' fare being Rs 7,650.

Buddha successfully completed a test flight in an ATR72 aircraft at Tumlingtar Airport six months ago. Regular flights resumed on Tuesday.

Despite the fact that it is a 72-seater plane, Buddha Air stated that the number of passengers can only be 55 one-way due to the Tumlingtar valley's narrowness.
