Jazeera Airways halts flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport

KATHMANDU, May 12: Jazeera Airways has halted flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport.

According to the airport management, Jazeera has stopped the Bhairahawa-Kuwait flight for nearly three weeks.

Jazeera Airways, who had stopped the flight from December 21th to March 9th, cited internal reasons for the cancellation. Although Jazeera had earlier stated that the flight would begin a week ago, it did not take off due to technical issues.

Gyanendra Bhul, co-spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal(CAAN), said Jazeera Airways has halted the flight for management after requesting that it be moved to the morning due to an increase in operating expenses due to overtime duty at the airport when flying.

"Jazeera Airways has said that they will start flying again from May 15," he said.

Jazeera Airways has been operating three flights a week to Kuwait since this airport became commercially operational.Meanwhile, Jazeera Airways had ceased operations a few months earlier for a variety of reasons.
