NAC starts commercial flight Kathmandu-Resunga

KATHMANDU, May 12:Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC)has begun commercial flights at Gulmi's Resunga Airport. Nepal Airlines' aircraft with the call sign 9N-ABT took a commercial flight on Friday (today).

At 6:30 a.m., the plane took off from Kathmandu for Resunga airport. Ayusha Karki, an airport air traffic controller, said that the plane arrived in Resunga with 13 passengers in addition to the crew. Flights will now depart from Resunga Airport on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Residents of Gulmi district used to go to Kathmandu by vehicle until Bhairahawa in Rupandehi, and then by plane.Even on the way back from Kathmandu, we had to take a plane to Bhairahawa and then an almost five-hour drive.  The drive from Gulmi to Kathmandu takes between 13 and 22 hours.

The flight from Resunga airport to Kathmandu costs 6,300 rupees per person. The ticket from Kathmandu to Resunga Airport is also Rs 6,500. It takes 50 minutes to go from Kathmandu to Resunga Airport.

Resunga Airport is located in Gulmi's Resunga Municipality's Ward No.-10 Simichour. The airport can be reached by traversing a gravel road about 5 kilometers from Tamghas' district headquarters.
