Nepal gets more than 3 lakh 26 thousand tourists visited in 4 months

KATHMANDU, May 02: 3 lakh 26 thousand 528 international visitors visited Nepal in the four months from January to April 2023.

According to data submitted to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) by the Department of Immigration, 98,773 visitors visited Nepal in April alone. In which 31,437 visitors arrived from India, 8,413 from America, 5,409 from the United Kingdom, 4,770 from China, and 3 thousand 828 from Australia.

35,443 tourists from SAARC countries, 14,655 from Asian countries (excluding SAARC) and 24,393 from Europe have visited Nepal.

In March alone, 99,426 visitors visited Nepal. Following Covid, one lakh tourists visited Nepal for the first time in March.

According to the board, the number of tourist arrivals has recovered by 90.28 percent compared to the month of April 2019. Nepal received 199,399 tourists in April 2019. "In comparison to April 2019, the number of tourist arrivals has increased by 90.28 percent."It is very good and now the tourism activity will continue as it was before Corona," said Mani Lamichhane, Director of NTB.
