Hotel sector is backbone of tourism: Tourism Minister Kirati

KATHMANDU, April 29:Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati, has said that the hospitality industry is the foundation of the tourism industry. Minister Kirati stated that hotels are the foundation of tourism and that the tourism industry is the foundation of the economy at the 48th Annual General Meeting of the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) on Friday.

"Hotels are the foundation of tourism," he declared. The tourist industry is the foundation of the economy.

He emphasized the need of unique and organic tourism while pointing out that Nepal has significant tourist potential.

"Our tourism need to be authentic and natural. But all we saw were foreign dreams. We overlooked Nepali, he said.

What type of law states that people traveling from India cannot bring more than 25,000 in cash? he questioned. Additionally, he posed a query. He asserted that there is a scenario where action is required and that both the policy and visitors who arrive with large sums of money should be respected.

"We don't have any kind of tourism policy. A tourism policy should be created first, he advised.
