NAC started procedure for Kathmandu-Australia flight

KATHMANDU, April 29:The partnership between Nepal and Australia for expansion of air communication network and promotion of tourism was discussed.

Sudan Kirati, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, and Felicity Jane Volk, Australian Ambassador to Nepal, discussed air flights and tourism between the two nations, according to the tourism minister's private secretariat.

The task of extending Nepal's and Australia's air communication network has already begun. A plan of action has also been presented to the minister in this regard.

The feasibility study for direct flights to Australia has begun, according to Ramesh Poudel, spokesperson for Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC). "The government has designated the NAC as the official airline for flights to Australia," he explained, adding that "the necessary procedures for air flights in Australia have been initiated."

Nepal and Australia inked a bilateral air service agreement in 2019. So far, Nepal has signed bilateral air service agreements with 40 different countries.
