NAC aircraft successfully completes a test flight at Resunga Airport

GULMI, April 29: A Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) plane successfully completed a test flight at Resunga Airport at 7:39 a.m. on Friday.     

NAC's plane (9N-ABT) took off from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and landed in Resunga Airport, which is located near Simichaur in Resunga Municipality-10 in Gulmi.  

According to the agreement between the NAC and the municipality, the NAC conducted a commercial flying test on Friday.     

Yograj Kandel, spokesperson for the Nepal Airlines Operators Association, stated that commercial flights are in the works following today's successful test flight. He stated that the NAC would resume commercial flights after receiving the necessary technical team evaluation.   

According to Kandel, the study will decide the travel fee and the number of passengers on a flight. "However, the plane fare could be around Rs 6,000 per person for the Resunga-Kathmandu flight," he adds.     

NAC Captain Manish Bista stated that normal flights will resume within a week of submitting today's flight report to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).     

The airport's construction was completed a few months ago, following 16 years of work. The airport's runway is 520 meters long and 20 meters broad, and it cost Rs 330 million to build. The airport is stretched on 156 ropani of land and is located at an elevation of 1,526 meters above sea level.      

Following the successful test flight, Resunga Municipality Mayor Khildhowj Panthi expressed his delight, stating that the dream of residents here of flying to Kathmandu will soon come true.
