Making plans to turn Nepalgunj's Tribhuvan Chowk into a 'food lane'

NEPALGUNJ, April 27:Preparations have begun to turn Nepalgunj's Tribhuvan Chowk into a 'food lane' in order to showcase local delicacies. According to Sriram Sigdel, President of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Natta) Banke Chapter, the process of establishing the Tribhuvan Chowk area 'Street Food' i.e. 'Food Lane Nepalgunj' has evolved to create an atmosphere where local foods may be marketed from one spot.

He stated that the Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan municipality and other interested parties had decided to turn the Tribhuvan Chowk area into a food lane. Tribhuvan Chowk in Nepalgunj is a historic and well-known market. You may enjoy foods like Panipuri, Chaat, Rawadi, Ghamanja, Biryani, Pan, and Dahibada in that area, which show Nepalgunj's identity. "Branding has not been possible because there is no systematic place to sell these dishes," he explained, adding that "Food lane will organize the market." It will aid in the branding of the food.

It is claimed that if the dishes are maintained in one area consistently, they would be branded and contribute to improve Nepalgunj's economic position. The Mayor of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Prashant Bista, stated that plans for creating the area about 150 meters of Tribhuvan Chowk a 'food lane' had advanced.

He stated that the Tribhuvan Chowk area would be transformed into a food lane in order to raise awareness of Nepalgunj and stimulate commercial activity here. He stated that the food lane will be operating by 12 am in the first phase. A night market operated at Tribhuvan Chowk in Nepalganj prior to the Maoist war.
