CAAN suspends Flydubai Country Manager and Station Manager's entry pass to TIA

KATHMANDU, April 26: The Country Manager of Flydubai and its Station Manager have been prohibited from entering the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) on suspicion of circulating untrue information about a bird attack on a Flydubai jet on Monday.

The CAAN has provisionally banned the two individuals' passes for spreading incorrect information out of Dubai. They are prohibited from accessing the airport until a fresh decision is issued, according to the CAAN's assistant spokesperson Gyanendra Bhul.

In a press release on Tuesday, the CAAN stated that Nepal Country Manager Binod Abrahm and Airport Manager Nar Narayan Pakwan of Flydubai had been forbidden from entering the airport because the official page of the airlines had claimed that the accident had been caused by a bird strike at TIA without having received official confirmation from the CAAN.

According to reports, the Flydubai aircraft with 168 passengers on board that took off from TIA on Monday night caught fire in one of its engines as a result of an explosion above Koteshwor in Kathmandu.
