Bird strike on flydubai aircraft not confirmed yet : Tourism Minister Kirati
KATHMANDU, April 25:Sudan Kirati, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has stated that it has not been confirmed yet that the flydubai aircraft suffered a bird strike.
One of the engines of FlyDubai aircraft FZ 576, which took off from Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday night at 9:20 p.m, failed. There was a flash of fire and a loud noise after the engine failed.
The aircraft was hit by a bird, according to Dubai's official Twitter account, the Dubai Media Office. However, Minister Kirati stated that no proof of a bird crash was discovered.
"As far as there is a rumor that a bird has hit the aircraft, I would like to make it clear to everyone that it has not been proven yet," he said.
The aircraft landed at 12:10 Dubai local time.
