Lakpa Dendi Sherpa’s autobiography ‘Himalayan Maverick’ launched
KATHMANDU, April 24:On Friday, Books Writing Nepal Pvt Ltd officially published a book titled 'Himalayan Maverick' autobiography world record mountaineer Lakpa Dendi Sherpa during an event at Everest Base Camp.
Kami Rita Sherpa, world record holder and mountain guide, and Binod Kulung, president of Books Writing Nepal, jointly published the book.
Sherpa successfully ascended Mount Everest three times in ten days, earning him a place in the 'Guinness World Record'. Similarly, after successfully conquering the world's first and second highest peaks, Mt Everest and K2, in 59 days and setting a 'Guinness World Record,' he placed his name in the 'Guinness World Record' book.
'In his speech, world record climber and mountain guide Kami Rita Sherpa expressed, "There are innumerable stories in the mountains, and it is very pleasant to write those stories in the form of a book." It is my pleasure to watch Sherpas progress in intellectual subjects like as book reading and book authoring, in addition to mountain climbing."
Similarly, Lakpa Dendi Sherpa expressed his delight at the book's release in the presence of climbing icon Kami Rita.
From Mamerkhu, a small Sherpa hamlet in the south-eastern section of Solukhumbu district, to working as a porter in the trekking sector, with thousands of ups and downs, 'life has started to feel like a garden full of differently colored flowers,' Sherpa explained.
According to Binod Kulung, president of Books Writing Nepal, there are many Nepali heroes working behind the scenes in the profession of mountain climbing. We chose Lakpa Dendi Sherpa as the first character in the mountain narrative. He stated that he introduced 'Himalayan Maverick' as a reflection of the stories of Sherpa climbers. He also stated that 'Himalayan Maverick' will be available on Amazon globally soon.
