TIA halts takeoff and landing operations due to a communication equipment problem

KATHMANDU, April 23:Air service has been affected due to a problem in the communication equipment of Tribhuvan International Airport.

According to Teknath Sitaula, the airport office's spokesperson, both domestic and international flights were impacted. The takeoff and landing have been halt because of issues with the area approach center and the control approach center that makes touch with the aircraft. 

'There is no problem in landing the aircraft. We are landing the aircraft that had taken off before the problem occurred,' said spokesperson Sitaula, 'the flight has been stopped. Even the aircraft on the ground have not been released.'

In addition, the technical team is currently working to solve the problem, said Sitaula, the spokesperson.
